Sheila Victoria Pietono

Winner of numerous prizes and awards from various national piano competitions throughout Indonesia, Sheila Victoria Pietono graduated with a Bachelor of Music with Honours (Piano Performance) under the Conservatory Scholarship from the Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music (NUS), under the tutelage of Albert Tiu.

After winning the 2012 Alberti International Piano Competition, Sheila made her debut in Carnegie Hall, New York, the following year. She was awarded scholarships in numerous music festivals such as the 2012 and 2015 International Keyboard Institute and Festival in New York, the Adam Gyorgy Castle Academy 2010 in Hungary as well as Adam Gyorgy Island Academy 2013 in Indonesia.

Over the years, Sheila had the opportunity to participate in masterclasses led by renowned pianist such as Jerome Rose, Nikolai Demidenko, Victor Rosenbaum, Akiko Ebi, Hae Jeon Lee, Nina Lelchuk, Gyorgy Nador, Gerrard Willems, and Steven Spooner.

She has been actively teaching as piano teacher since 2005, producing award-winning students in national competitions in Indonesia. In order to give back to the society back in her homeland, she was invited in 2014 as a clinician, lecturer, as well as performer in the “Inspired by the Young” series in Jakarta, Indonesia, where young pianists seek inspirations from Indonesian pianists who have excelled overseas. After receiving fantastic reviews, she will again be invited to its 2016 series. Sheila was also featured in her Indonesia national music magazine as a well refined musician and undoubtedly the country’s gem.
